Rubber Stone colored rubber is manufactured and as a results is the same color through the entire chip. Some other rubber paving companies sell colored rubber that is painted black rubber. Painted black rubber chips could be a problem with prolonged wear on the rubber surface. Over time, the paint wears off the black rubber chip leaving only the black to show through. The Rubber Stone color stays strong and does not deteriorate over time since the color goes all the way through the chip. Having solid color chips means your driveway will stay true to color and look great longer.
Painted rubber chips cost less than manufactured colored chips. Estimates from companies using painted colored chips may come back lower than our Rubber Stone estimates. Understanding that there is a difference in colored rubber should help you with your rubber paving decisions.
